Gandhi started his first newspaper, The Indian Opinion, in Durban South Africa in 1903. In 1904 he moved the entire press to Phoenix Settlement. The building now serves as a computer training lab with and internet cafe.

The Seeds of Democracy museum is located in this building along with a Learning Center.
